For Anyone Told They Can’t Be Gay and Loved by God
Do you love God but feel like you don’t belong in church anymore?
Yeah… I’ve been there.
For a long time, I thought being gay disqualified me from God’s love. I spent years serving in ministry — including 16 years as a missionary — while privately wrestling with shame, isolation, and impossible questions. The church had no room for someone like me.
That’s why I created this space.
I’m David — an ex-missionary, an ordained church elder, and a gay Christian who believes in the beauty of Scripture, the importance of community, and the wild, redemptive love of God.
This place is for the faith-questioners. The LGBTQ folks wondering if there’s still room for them in God’s story. The parents trying to love their queer kids well while holding onto faith. The people who’ve been told they don’t belong — but still believe.
Here, we talk about things most churches avoid:
- What the Bible really says (and doesn’t say) about LGBTQ people
- Deconstruction and rebuilding faith
- The clobber passages
- Queer theology
- Honest stories from the margins
We’re going to dive into Scripture, share truth with compassion, and have the kinds of conversations I wish had been possible in the churches I grew up attending.
If you’ve ever been told you can’t be gay and be loved by God — or if you’re trying to love someone who’s both — you’re welcome here. I hope you learn something and teach me something too.
And if you’re just starting to ask the hard questions?
Welcome. You’re not alone. You don’t have to figure it all out in a flash. You belong here.
Let’s go on this journey together.
Glad you’re here!
-David
